Any news of what changes will be happening with the blog? Have they considered the unlimited photo bank for loyal customers that have a store and html site? I need answers soon, as I am in need of a new blog. If I don't hear something soon, I will be purchasing a ProPhoto Blog with unlimited photo uploads. I can't keep waiting...

Thank you for following up. The membership plans that PhotoBiz currently offers will not be changing as a result of the blog release. All photos used on any PhotoBiz product deduct from the membership plan you choose to subscribe to.

We have built in the ability to include images from other hosting sources to allow customers the freedom to have as many images as they’d like on their blog, while still maintaining an affordable membership plan. We are also fast-tracking the integration of the Image Clipboard on other products to allow further image “sharing” among our products.

If you’d like, a member of our passionate support team would be happy to discuss image hosting options with you. Best of luck with this very important decision!

Several people have mentioned concerns over the image plan in connection with the new Blog Sites. I wanted to bring an earlier reply to your attention -- please see below. By embedding images that you are hosting elsewhere, you will be able to keep your image costs low, as these images will not count towards your image plan!

I hosted the photos on Dropbox to get a URL. The images embedded in the post won't load. This is a problem. I really hope I can keep my business with Photobiz. I've had such a wonderful experience with my website.

I am not having a problem with the blog. I seem to be the only one. I can understand the needs and concerns that other people have. I host a vast majority of my images on Flickr (besides those I have on my website of course). I have found that a setting of "actual size" when posting on the blog has a limit of about 900px wide when it comes to your whole image fitting in the given area. Anything outside of this, will get cut off.

I am simply using the blog for just that. A blog. I have a flash/html site for what I need it to do. I have disabled all the pages on my blog. It is a secondary link from my main site. I like the ease and look of the main flash and html sites. The templates look much nicer, in my opinion, than the few offered for the blog. I am positive that the template bank will continue to grow for the blog sites like it continually does for the flash/html sites, but people can't expect a million changes to come within 2 weeks.

The only little thing that I would like to see changed, is when viewing posts, in order to get to the older posts, the link is on the right, like one is 'going forward' (to the right). I would have thought that common sense would put it on the left (backwards).

Photobiz, I think you have done a great job with the blog feature thus far. Yes, there are all things that people would like to add or change. I am positive that PB will answer each request to the best of their ability.

Scott,

I'm really glad to see your positive feedback! I wanted to let you know that we are making the above changes to the Blog.. It should read << Older Posts | Newer Posts >> instead of << Newer Posts | Previous Posts >> inside of each post. We are working on the changes now!

Sorry if this has been asked already but I am seriously considering a Photobiz Blog but I would like to look at some ACTUAL live Photobiz blog sites in use by customers. I found Scot Nelson's by reading the questions in this topic but is there some place I could find some more? I would like to view some actual sites before I make the plunge. I know that you guys are probably busy at WPPI so just when you get a chance if you could reply, that would be great!

By the way, I LOVE my flash site with Photobiz. Been a customer for a few years now and have been waiting on the Blog feature for a long time. :)

Hi everyone,
With the new blog sites available, I'm considering going 100% blog and not using my Photobiz flash website any longer as the new blogs have a "Gallery" page. Has anyone else done this?
If I "cancel" my flash website, does anyone know if I can "exchange" it for a blog instead?

What is the point of having both? Any opinions?

Thanks!!

I'm thinking of migrating my current blog to the Photobiz blog site, but I want to see what the templates look like on my phone. Would anyone like to share their Photobiz blog URL with me so I can have a peek? :)
Thanks.

I'm always limited to with my Photobiz Flash site template because I have a round logo, and not a horizontal text logo.
Will this be a problem with the blog templates as well? I don't want my round logo to be sized down considerably just to fit the horizontal logo space that you have on most of your templates.

Thanks so much. You guys are always so great with responding.

Lisa,

It was great talking to you today about the PhotoBiz blog. Many of our photographers use their Flash site as a portfolio while having all of ther information and recent work on the blog site. We can help you set up your blog any way you would like. Since you already have a flash site it would make it easy for you to keep it as a portfolio if needed.

The recommended logo size for the PhotoBiz blog is 900x150 pixels, but if you send me your logo(davids@photobiz.com) I'll be more than happy to play around with the size to make sure that your happy with the look of your logo.

Just fiddling around with my new blogsite.

Photobiz, I would LOVE if you could make the option to left-align the post dates. The dates and the post title aren't aligned and it looks messy!

Thank you!

Also wondering if there is an option to hide the heading "You are viewing: Home"?
And hide the double post titles on the individual post page?

For example, if I go directly to the post URL, the post title shows up THREE times on the top of the page: http://lavishandligh...-winter-wedding
It seems redundant and not really nice to look at!

Lisa, I hate to see you go and I'm sorry you felt like there was redundancy in the Blog and a disconnect in our products.I wish you the best of luck and hopefully one day you will consider our services again! Good luck :)
