Hi,

I am a new user and have found a couple of what I thought would be obvious things are completely missing and very much needed. They are also easy to implement into the current system. Right now, without these, I'm not sure I'm going to be able to make your templates work for what I need. These are urgently needed:

1) REALLY need the ability to have a Gallery page load with Slideshow paused. This is basic functionality that seems to be oddly missing. I only have the ability to have a Gallery load with a slideshow already in motion. For a fine art site, I liken this to walking into an art gallery and the walls are moving. For my fine art site, I need to be able to have a first image which is informational and paused, it describes the current gallery images etc and then lets people explore the gallery at their own pace from there. They can THEN start the slideshow or just manually click through thumbnails.

Currently I would have to have large letters at the top on the first image saying - HIT THE PAUSE BUTTON QUICKLY, RIGHT NOW!! - which of course is silly and makes my site look bad and your service look bad. Adding a toggle switch in the Slideshow settings area for having the slideshow paused at gallery load, or not, would be a simple but VERY valuable addition.

2) The ability to have longer (or unlimited length) captions for photographs. The current limit is WAY too small for fine art images, or journalistic images for that matter, where a story behind the image matters. Making the caption area a scrolling text box that sizes to the content would be the simple solution. This would then work like all other text areas on a site. But, yeah, longer caption capability is basic functionality that is sorely missing.

Thanks for your consideration of these additions.

Best,
Tim

What do people do if they don't want to have a slideshow, but just have thumbnails only?? there HAS to be a way to not be forced into an automatic slideshow in every gallery. Am I missing this somewhere?

Clearly this forum is not monitored. Still no reply for anyone at PhotoBiz.  :-(
